Grayson H. Rayborn received a B.S. in physics from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Ph. D. in physics from the University of Florida. After a year on the faculty of Old Dominion University he joined the physics faculty of the University of Southern Mississippi where, except for a sabbatical year at the University of Nebraska, he remained until he retired from the faculty as Professor of Physics and Astronomy. He continues to pursue his research interests in signal processing, experimental atomic physics, and underwater acoustics as Professor Emeritus at the University of Southern Mississippi Signal Research Center.
